How to make your Mac like it is brand new straight out of the factory after a clean install. . . (If you plan on selling your Mac)

Boot from your Mac OSX installation disk or Recovery Partition and load up Disk Utility to erase the hard drive (HD) and select erase options and write zeroes to the hard drive. Name your HD what ever you like, for me, I like "Macintosh HD"

After you erased and zeroed out your HD, exit Disk Utility and Install Mac OSX.  After installation, the Mac OSX Setup will run.

Instead of going through with the Mac OSX setup, press: Cmd Q
to quit the Setup program and it will shut down your Mac.

So no user accounts were created and no settings saved.

Now you have a Mac with Mac OSX cleaned installed like it is straight out of the factory!

(If you are plan on selling your Mac, doing this is good)

And when the new owner of the Mac powers it up, the Mac OSX Setup Assistant will load up and the new owner come go through with the Mac OSX Setup and create a user account and configure the settings!
