My uncle's PC running Windows 7 got infected with the Justice Dept virus and he couldn't even log
into his PC. And I fixed it and got rid of the virus with Kaspersky Rescue Disk 10.
It is a last line of defense against malware when other anti-virus fails aside from reinstalling Windows and it does wonders!
Kaspersky Rescue Disk 10 is free and you boot off the CD and mount your Windows partition or any drive you want it to scan. It is Linux based and runs off the CD, so when your Windows computer is compromised by any malware (virus, trojan etc) and you can get rid of it the conventional way in Windows with regular anti-virus, definitely give Kaspersky Rescue Disk 10 a try.
To boot of the CD, set the boot priority in your BIOS to CD boot as first priority.
When you first run it, be sure to update it with the latest definitions.
The speed and the duration of the scan depends on the speed of your CPU, memory and the size of the hard drives.
I use it all the time to disinfect friends and families PCs.
